¢º¢º Organization


Governing Body
  The governing body of KICEM currently consists of a president, 7within vice presidents , a board of directors, advisors, and auditors, with 7 regular committees and several specialty committees. Two local chapters have also been formed to promote local members' involvement.


Secretariat
  The KICEM secretariat is located in Seoul, the capital of Korea, and performs general administrative work for KICEM.


Committees
  The organization of committees is formed based on the committee's business plan and activities. Each committee's role is as described below.

  ¡Ü Steering Committee
    - Plan and execute all Institute events and functions
- Administration work related to outsourcing and consulting activities
- Manage membership and maintain database (DB) of members
- Collect CM related information and provide information services on Internet

¡Ü External Cooperation Committee
    - Build cooperative relationships with related domestic organizations, such as government agencies, industrial associations, research institutes and universities as well as international organizations
    - Act as liaison between Institute activities/business, and related companies and experts
    - Promote public relations and support other committee's promotion activities

  ¡Ü Academic Exchange Committee
    - Plan and activate academic meetings of the Institute such as the annual conference and special seminars
    - Form an academic correlation system with other construction management and engineering related organizations
    - Organize international seminars with invited experts

     
  ¡Ü Publishing Committee
    - Publish booklets, newsletters and collection of research papers including journals, proceedings and other research reports
    - Plan and execute the task of securing outstanding papers, and attracting international papers
    - Introduce international papers and distribute such information to the public

  ¡Ü Education Committee
    - Survey and forecast education demands in the industry
    - Develop continuous education programs and materials corresponding to the needs of industry
    - Organize and execute education programs

       
  ¡Ü Research and Development Committee
    - Build a network between academic, research and industry fields to forecast R&D demands and share R&D information
    - Organize research teams and monitor their research activities
    - Distribute information and perform training programs on R&D results

  ¡Ü Journal Editorial Committee
    - Review, edit and follow up on all work related to the KICEM journal, proceeding and other academic papers
    - Maintain reviewer pool and manage peer-review process for paper evaluation
    - Introduce outstanding domestic and international research papers

  ¡Ü Specialty Committees
    The Specialty Committees cope with technology demands for changes in the industry, and are organized when technology development and research execution is needed in a specific construction engineering and management field. The committees are responsible for running R&D projects that requires expert-level performance and sharing the results with the members. Currently, six active specialty committees exist, including: the Time Management, Cost Management, Value Management, Construction Information Management, Construction Contract and Claim Management, and Construction Policy Committee.
